Jim developed the Private Protection Plan® in 1985 after recognizing that most CalSTRS members were electing reduced pension options without understanding the alternative. His system has helped thousands of retiring California teachers make more informed, confident pension elections. Jim holds the CFP®, CLU®, ChFC®, and CLF® designations and a Master of Education degree.
